Consider a Bedlington Terrier for a Hypoallergenic Dog

The Bedlington Terrier is the first listed by the American Kennel Club as a hypoallergenic dog.

These breeds of dogs have been around since the early 1800. Originally bred as a hunting dog to go after badger, fox, otters and any other animal that was considered vermin at that time. They are quite tenacious and will not back down when confronted.

Originally bred as a hunting dog it wasn’t long before they we’re bred as pets and for the show ring.

They should stand somewhere in the range of 16 ½ to 17 ½ inches at the withers for a dog and 15 to 16 ½ inches for a bitch.

A grooming schedule of a full dog grooming on a 6 week schedule with minor grooming and touch ups in between. You will need most of your dog grooming tools for this dog. Expect to be using your dog grooming clippers, dog brushes and combs, and dog grooming scissors for this dog. Either that or be ready to take your dog to a professional dog groomer as these dogs have a very specific dog grooming trim.
