You May Want to Use Clipper Blade Coolant When Your Clipper Blades Get Hot
You will need your clipper blade coolant when you are working with your dog grooming clippers.
As your dog grooming clippers run you will find that your blades will start to get warm. Warm is ok, hot is not. That is one of the reason that I recommend you have two of each size of clipper blades in your dog grooming tools.
Blade coolant can be purchased through any dog grooming supply catalogue. It comes in an aerosol spray can. When you’re blades start to get hot you spray them and not only will they cool down but the spray lubricates them so they stay cooler longer. You may also find this at your local pet supply house.
The woman who takes care of sharpening for my clipper blades and dog grooming scissors along with making any repairs on my dog grooming equipment has another technique for cooling clipper blades. She suggests getting a marble tile and setting the blades on it for cooling.
One thing to remember here is that you will need to oil the blades periodically at the frictions points where they rub one part against the other. I have never tried this approach but it makes sense that it would work since marble stays consistently cool.
