Proper Ways to Hold and Use Your Dog Grooming Clippers
There a way to use your dog grooming clippers to make a nice looking trim when dog grooming.
You’ve gone through your dog grooming equipment and chosen the appropriate blades for the trim you are doing and made sure to have the other dog grooming tools needed for the job.
A good way to hold the clippers when you are using them is to hold onto them the same way your would a pencil when you write.
You always want to lay the clipper blade flat against the dogs body and keep an even pressure on them while clipping. This is true no matter what the breeds of dogs you are working on at the time.
Looking at your dog you will see the coat follows a certain direction as it lays down on your dog. If you make sure to run your clippers in that direction you will always get a nice smooth cut on your dog. Some dogs have cowlicks where the hair curves around, just follow that curve and the coat will cut smoothly and at the same length as the rest of the coat.
If you move the clippers along the coat to quickly you will also get a rough cut. Never move the clippers faster that the blade can cut the hair and the cut will come out smooth.
Now take your dog grooming brushes, brush up the coat and then proceed to clipper the coat. You may need to brush the coat up and clipper it a couple of times to remove all the hair evenly.
When no more hair comes off with the clippers then that part of the dog grooming job is done.
