Learn the dog grooming needed for your dog along with dog clippers, nail trimmers, and pet supplies

Dog groups are good to know when practicing dog grooming since they will give you the reason for your dogs breed and what they have been bred to do. From working to herding to companion.

There are seven groups in the American Kennel Club.

The Sporting Dog group

The Hound Group

The Working Dog Group

The Terrier Group

The Toy Group

The Non-Sporting Dog Group

The Herding Dog Group

There is also a miscellaneous class of dogs and a rare breed classification.

Knowing where your dog belongs will help you decide what trim, if any, will be the best for your pooch. If you have a mixed breed then take a good look at your dog and the predominant breed look that you see is what you’ll want to read about.

Do not take this as an exact guide line. Your dog, as are mine, are pets and their trim needs to suit you, more so than the purpose of the breed lines your dog falls within.

You will still need to have your pet grooming equipment. Dog brushes and combs, dog clippers and blades, pet grooming scissors, nail trimmers, etc.

Whether you take the time or not to read up on your dogs breed you can still groom your dog and make them look good along with taking care of their skin, ears, nails, and more.
