With Your Dog Grooming Clippers Create a Pre Bath Sanitary Trim

Get your dog grooming clippers out of your dog grooming equipment because you’re going to prep your dog for his bath. You will only need to do this process if you have long haired dog. Bathing is the prerequisite to your actual dog grooming. You should have no need at this time for any other dog grooming tool.
You have set your dog on your dog grooming table and you have your clippers at hand with a #10 blade attached to it. Now raise your dog up on his hind feet so you can see his stomach.

Take your clippers and on females start about four nipples up on her body, for males start above the penis. On the males your want to clear the enough hair away so they don’t get urine on themselves. Clipper away the hair, working from the middle down and from the middle out. Work your way down cleaning the hair away from all the private areas
When your get to the area of the flank where the skin hangs ALWAYS run your clippers across any ridge of skin, NEVER run along the ridge. You can get the skin caught in the clipper blade and rip you dog wide open. THAT’S A VETERINARIAN BILL WAITING TO HAPPEN.
Once you that area cleaned away, set your dog back on your dog grooming table on all four feed. Lift his tail, your going to take your clippers with the same blade and remove about 1/8th of an inch of his coat from around the anus. Do this by running your clipper blade across both sides of the anus. DO NOT run your blade in and up and down direction over the anus. The skin there is very soft and delicate and very easy to tear or cut with your clipper blades.
