For people who have busy days and work during the day this option can be a lifesaver. Drop your dog off in the morning and pick them at the end of the day. Some shops offer a pick up and drop off service with their shops. This can be a plus for people who can’t get out but still need their dogs groomed. Be sure to have some consideration and don’t make the people stay over. They’ve worked extremely hard with dog grooming along with making sure your dog is comfortable, and giving him bathroom breaks during the day. The clean up and the prep for the next day still needs doing and your dog may be in the way. If you want to take your dog to a shop and don’t want him to stay all day do some checking around. I have know of shops that prefer to do a 4 hour turn around. A busy shop can be a sign of a very good shop but don’t count out the person who is just starting their business. They will always try a little harder to please. When I look for a dog grooming parlor I look for clean, with not a lot of dog odor, and one that doesn’t co-mingle their dogs. Mixing dogs together that you don’t know seems to me to be a recipe for disaster. Most all groom shops will care well for your dogs and give you a nice trim. If you feel you’ve gotten your moneys worth then it is certainly appropriate and appreciated for you to leave a tip for your dog grooming. Dog groomers a group of professional, well trained, creative individuals and should be appreciated as such.
