Ear Infections Happen in All Breeds of Dogs

Ear infections can be a chronic health problem for some dogs and for others it may only happen once, or never if you are lucky. Your dogs ear irritation could be from a yeast problem or from mites. Some cases it a matter of allergies showing up in the ears. No matter the cause it’s a painful and irritating problem for your dog.

If you are doing your own dog grooming you will notice if your dog is having an ear problem when you are using the ear cleaning solution in your pet supplies.

If you are cleaning your dogs ears you will notice the ear canal is red instead of a healthy pink. Possibly somewhat swollen with a foul odor and dark wax coming out of it. Your dog may also be shaking his head and digging at his ears as a symptom to his infection.

Breeds of dogs with long floppy ears are more prone to this problem than other dogs whose ears are able to get air to them on a regular basis.

You can find online holistic and home remedies to cure your dogs ear problem, but before you start treatment in these methods make sure you have a proper diagnosis from a qualified person. The wrong treatment can do more damage than good and cause Rover some serious pain depending on what you use.

In most cases a veterinarian treatment is still the safest and the best cure for your dog.
