Dog grooming in the herding group means get out your dog bushes and other equipment.
You might want to use a dog guide to learn more about the dogs in the Herding Group These dogs also need some kind of dog grooming to keep them up. You may want to keep the dog in his natural state or keep him trimmed. Most of theses breeds of dogs grow quite a bit of coat and in the show ring are shown in their natural state, although some of them are shown in a trim.
No matter what, these coated breed can be a lot of work. That means get your dog grooming equipment and your dog grooming supplies at ready. You'll want your dog brushes. You’ll also want to have your dog grooming clippers and your dog grooming scissors at hand too.
These dogs are bred specifically for the purpose of herding sheep and cattle. They love to run and it’s now an inherent quality to want to herd. I have seen them want to herd children and other dogs when they haven’t had a herd of sheep or cattle to keep in check.
The dogs in this group are:
The Australian Cattle Dog, Bearded Collie, Belgian Malinois, Belgian Sheepdog, Belgian Tervuren, Bouvier Des Flandres, Briard, Collie, German Shepherd, Old English Sheepdog, Puli, Shetland Sheepdog, Cardigan Welsh Corgi and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
