The Schnauzer is a Non Shedding Dog, Listed by the American Kennel Club as a Hypo-Allergenic Dog

The Schnauzer is another non shedding dog listed by the American Kennel Club as a hypo-allergenic dog. This dog comes in three distinct sizes, the giant, the standard and the miniature. All three can make great pets depending on the amount of room you have available.

Other breeds of dogs, with different size ranges within their breed, are created by selective breeding of the dogs to create larger or smaller sizes. The different sizes of this dog are the, giant, standard and miniature were created by the combined breeding of dogs out side the breed. Yet in doing this they still came up with dogs that were of the same type and are now bred to the same standard with height being the exception.

The standard size was the original and first bred, used as a ratter and as a guard dog for produce carts. Said to be the dog with the human brain he was also used during the war as a dispatch courier and a red cross aide.

Grooming for this dog should be done on a four week basis using your dog brushes regularly in between grooming. To maintain the coarse texture of the coat hand stripping would be required. Use of the dog grooming clippers as opposed to hand stripping will create a soft coat on your dog. If your dog is a pet there is no real problem with this. At that point it’s more about your personal preference.
