The Wheaten I’ve come into contact with have made great and loving pet. They have a great personality, love people and are somewhat clown like in their behavior. This is not to say that all Wheaten have this same personality, but they have been said to be both companion and protector to their owners. These Terriers originated in Ireland. A medium sized dog with a soft wheaten colored coat. The dogs name came to be because of the coat. The dog should stand 18 to 19 inches at the withers and the bitch should stand 17 to 18 inches at the withers. Dog grooming for the Wheaten should be accomplished on a four week schedule with plenty of use of your dog brushes in between time. This is a high maintenance dog and will require most of your dog grooming tools to maintain him.
